Flupy Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 15th September 2026
Last updated: 11 September 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Flupy, provided by Compval Trading & Services Ltd, company number - NI614155, registered office - Unit 271, Moat House, 54 Bloomfield Avenue, Belfast, BT5 5AD, (“Flupy”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating a Flupy account or using the service, the Account Holder agrees to these Terms on behalf of their household.
Flupy is intended for personal, household use by consumers. These Terms, and the consumer protections referred to in them, apply to Flupy on that basis. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal data and forms part of these Terms by reference.
2. Definitions
- “Household” means the group of profiles created under a single Flupy subscription.
- “Account Holder” means the adult who registers for Flupy, holds billing responsibility, and manages the Household's settings, members, and permissions.
- “Member” means an adult household participant with full access to Flupy's modules but no billing or admin rights.
- “Restricted Profile” means a profile with day-to-day module access but no access to admin, financial, or private modules, configured by the Account Holder – including profiles set up for children.
- “Guest” means a person given a limited, scoped share of specific Household content (for example, a shared shopping list), without a full account.
- “Content” means any information, photos, documents, or other material a Household stores in or through Flupy.
- “Subscription” means a paid Flupy plan, billed monthly or annually as selected by the Account Holder.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to register as an Account Holder and to enter into these Terms. Restricted Profiles for children are created and controlled by the Account Holder; a child does not register for their own account or agree to these Terms themselves.
The Account Holder is responsible for: keeping login credentials secure; all activity that takes place under the Household's account; deciding what access each Member, Restricted Profile, and Guest is given; and ensuring that use of Flupy by anyone in the Household complies with these Terms.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
4. The Service
Flupy is a household and family management service (todo lists, home and kitchen inventory, shared calendar, budgeting, photo and document storage, meal planning, and related modules). We may add, change, or retire individual features over time as Flupy develops; we will give reasonable notice before removing a feature you actively rely on.
Flupy is provided as a responsive website with an installable progressive web app; we do not currently offer native iOS or Android apps.
5. Free Trial
New Households receive a 30-day free trial with full access to Flupy's features. No payment card is required to start a trial.
If a trial ends, or a paid Subscription lapses, without an active paid plan in place, access to add or change Content stops until a Subscription is started or restarted – your existing Content is not deleted automatically. We are developing a more detailed lifecycle for this (with defined grace periods and advance notice at each stage) and will update these Terms before it takes effect.
You do not need to wait for any of this: you can export your Content in a portable format at any time, directly from within Flupy (Settings → Export your data), or ask us to permanently delete your account at any time by contacting us (Section 20) – see Section 8 for more on exporting and keeping your own copy of your Content.
6. Subscription Plans, Pricing, and Storage
Flupy is offered on tiered Subscription plans, differing by shared Household storage allowance: Starter (50GB, £4.99/month or £47.99/year), Family (250GB, £7.99/month or £76.99/year), and Family Plus (1TB, £14.99/month or £143.99/year). All Flupy features and modules are available on every tier; tiers differ only by storage allowance.
Storage is counted against photos and documents only; todo, inventory, calendar, budget, and diary records are not metered. Storage is shared across the whole Household, not split per profile.
If a Household reaches its storage limit, new photo or document uploads are blocked and the Account Holder is prompted to upgrade; we will never restrict or remove access to Content you have already stored because you are at or over your limit.
We may offer time-limited launch pricing or referral rewards from time to time; specific terms for any such offer will be shown at the time it is offered, and offers cannot be combined with each other unless we say otherwise.
We may change Subscription prices. For existing subscribers, we will give at least 30 days’ notice of a price increase before it takes effect on your next renewal; continuing to use Flupy after that date confirms your acceptance of the new price, or you may cancel before renewal as described in Section 7.
7. Billing, Cancellation, and Refunds
Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually as selected, and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
You can cancel your Subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not automatically end your current paid period – your Household keeps full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which the trial-end lifecycle in Section 5 applies.
Cooling-off period: if you are a consumer starting a paid Subscription for the first time, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days for a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to begin providing the Subscription immediately during that 14-day period and then cancel before it ends, we may deduct a reasonable amount for the service already supplied, calculated in proportion to the period elapsed. This 14-day right applies to a first Subscription only, not to each subsequent renewal.
Outside the statutory cooling-off period, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or where we agree otherwise at our discretion.
8. Your Content
You and your Household retain ownership of all Content you store in Flupy. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, back up, and process your Content solely to provide the Flupy service to your Household.
You are responsible for the legality of the Content you store, and for having any rights or permissions needed for photos or documents you upload (for example, in relation to other people who appear in them). We take reasonable steps to back up Content as described in our Privacy Policy, but we strongly recommend you also use Flupy's export feature to keep your own copy of anything important to you.
9. Household Roles and Children
The Account Holder decides what access each Member, Restricted Profile, and Guest has within the Household, including the level of access given to a child's Restricted Profile. Flupy provides the controls described in our Privacy Policy (including Children’s Code–aligned defaults for child profiles); responsibility for how those controls are configured for a child in their care sits with the Account Holder as the responsible adult.
Flupy is not directed at children as independent users, and children do not enter into these Terms; a child's use of their Restricted Profile is at all times under the Account Holder's supervision and responsibility.
10. Acceptable Use
When using Flupy, you must not:
- Upload Content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to store or share;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another Household's account or Content, or to Flupy's systems;
- Use Flupy to send spam, malware, or to harass or harm another person;
- Circumvent storage limits, security features, or these Terms through technical means;
- Use Flupy for any purpose other than personal household management.
We may suspend or terminate access for a Household that breaches this section, and will normally give notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach first, except where the breach is serious or ongoing.
11. Intellectual Property
Flupy, its software, design, branding, and the Flupy name and logo are owned by us or our licensors. Except for your own Content, nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or resell Flupy or any part of it.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We aim to keep Flupy available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may carry out planned maintenance, and will aim to give advance notice where practical. We may update or improve Flupy's features from time to time as described in Section 4.
13. Suspension and Termination
You may close your account and end your Subscription at any time, per Section 7. We may suspend or terminate an account for a serious or persistent breach of these Terms (including the Acceptable Use section), for non-payment following the lifecycle in Section 5, or where required by law. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice before suspending or terminating for breach, and will handle any resulting Content in line with Section 5 and our Privacy Policy.
14. Warranties and Disclaimers
We provide Flupy with reasonable care and skill. Except as set out in these Terms or required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable law, Flupy is provided “as is” and we do not make additional warranties about fitness for a particular purpose beyond what Flupy is described as doing. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer, which are not excluded or limited by these Terms.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any matter which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or limit; or (d) your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable law.
Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of Flupy, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £1 or the total Subscription fees you paid to us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Subject to the first paragraph of this section, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, business, or business opportunity, none of which we would expect to arise from use of a personal household product in any event.
We are not liable for loss of Content to the extent that loss could reasonably have been avoided by you keeping your own backup copy using the export feature described in Section 8, except where the loss was caused by our negligence or breach of these Terms.
16. Indemnity
You agree to reimburse us for any losses, costs, or claims we suffer as a direct result of your Household's breach of the Acceptable Use section, or of Content you upload infringing someone else's rights, except to the extent caused by our own breach of these Terms or negligence.
17. Third-Party Services
Flupy uses trusted third-party providers, including Stripe for payment processing and our hosting provider, as described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of these providers outside our control, save as set out in Section 15.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as Flupy's features or our legal obligations change. Where a change is material, we will notify Account Holders in advance (for example by email or in-app notice) before it takes effect. Continuing to use Flupy after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, you may cancel your Subscription as described in Section 7.
19. Complaints and Governing Law
If you have a complaint, please contact us first using the details in Section 20 so we can try to resolve it directly. Independent guidance for consumers is also available from Citizens Advice.
These Terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, UK. If you live in Scotland, England or Wales, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK you live in, and mandatory consumer protections of that jurisdiction may also apply.
